Top 5 Summer Fashion Trends I am most Excited For This Season

Welcome back everyone! As you can tell, I have been on a bit of a hiatus. Not intentionally, but it did happen. But, I'm back! This post is going to be lighter than the past couple (I promise). I saw a video of a girl trying on a pair of micro mini shorts and I lost it, so here we are. But I didn't want to come in with a bunch of negativity. I also have been obsessed with online shopping and wanted to share some of my favorite finds (that I didn't buy because this girl is living with a college girl budget). So, I'm going to talk about my favorite trends for summer 2024!
Long, flowy dresses
I am OBSSESSED with the flowy dress trend. While I prefer my dresses long, I love the sweet, short baby doll dresses with all of the tulle and poof. However, those dresses tend to be a bit heavier. I want to talk about the ones we saw all the girls on Tik Tok wear to prom. These are most certainly not prom dresses and if a sundress is formal, then go ahead and call me an over-dresser. I love how sweet and girlie these are. The design is so timeless and no matter what style you choose, you really can't go wrong. Whether you like floral patterns, swooping necklines, ruffles, or just something to spin like a princess in, this trend holds a special place in my heart. It's so adaptive as well. If you like a boho style, you can wear something more flowy, if you want something preppy, you can choose something slimmer with more shape. This trend is so fun and elegant and timeless. I hope this one sticks around for a while because I will be wearing these dresses forever (... I like to put a mock turtleneck under these dresses so that I can wear them in the colder weather).
Pops of Pattern
Where do I even begin with this one? Floral and plaid are really trending right now, and we are getting much better at mixing patterns (I am not quite on board with it yet, but we're getting there). I see upcycling videos all of the time and I am obsessed with the works of are people are creating. Patches are coming back into style again, throw some quilt work dresses in there are we are ready for a 70's party or a coastal cowgirl day at the beach. I love the use of tulle to create pretty little dresses with 3-D patterns on them. Literal flowers popping off the dress!! And, the use of embroidery, so cute. Baby tees with little sewn on characters are so cute. My wallet just can't take it (uhh...I mean my heart?) People are just so creative and adding these details into the pieces make them unique and fun. It really adds a personal touch and allows for anyone's personality to shine through.
Tennis skirts and dresses
Built-in shorts into a skirt or dress are an absolute game changer. Now I can seamlessly wear the cutest little outfit without anyone being able to tell I have shorts on underneath. And I don't have to worry about everything being exposed because the outfit is protecting me. I know athleisure wear can be tricky, but I feel like with this dress, I can go from the office to the gym without even a wonder whether or not my outfit is dressy enough. These outfits are fulfilling my dreams of being a country club, golf cart riding girlie.
Brami Tops
So, this summer is all about comfort and style. Just like with the tennis skirts, brami tops are the handiest tops you will ever find. They are so flattering! And, best of all, you don't even have to wear a bra! The brami (cami + bra) top has you covered. The bra is built in, and these tops are perfect for layering! Summer can be a struggle, with blistering heat and humidity outside but dry, icy, cold A/C inside, trying to find a cute top to layer can be a struggle. Bramis are the perfect solution! It really doesn't get any better than that!
Mules (period)
Y'all! This are so chic! They are seriously dropping the freshest "country club, riding in the golf cart while I sip peach lemonade" vibe. They're so simple, yet so cute. Just slide your foot in and go. The heel is thick, so no worries about falling (...well for the most part. I'm kind of clumsy). Perfect for any event. These are just a fun play on the summer sandal we are used to!
